After last year's successful friendlies in Colombia and Canada, the boys and girls U18, U16 and U14 U.S. Youth Futsal National teams will travel to Costa Rica for three international matches.  The trip will take place July 23 through July 30, 2017.

The lucky players will be selected upon the conclusion of the 2017 U.S. Youth Futsal National I.D. Trials.  The I.D. Trials will be held July 13-15, 2017 in Overland Park and New Century, KS.

Players were evaluated throughout the event, with top players were chosen for U.S. Youth Futsal Teams that will train together and travel internationally.

This will be the 2nd trip to Costa Rica for U.S. Youth Futsal Teams   In 2015 USYFNT compiled 16-2-1 record.  Then, the Americans competed at the U14, U16 and U18 levels against teams from Alajuela Futsal, Escazu Futsal, Colegio Santa Ana, Santo Domingo and CTP Lindora. A late addition was a match between the U.S. Youth Futsal U18 girls and the Costa Rican Women's National Futsal Team, a closely contested match won by the hosts 4-1.

In addition to the games, the players will have the chance to explore Costa Rica’s natural wonders and enjoy whitewater rafting and zip-lining.

Costa Rica is a country in Central America, bordered by Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the southeast, the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Caribbean Sea to the east, and Ecuador to the south of Cocos Island. It has a population of around 4.5 million, of whom nearly a quarter live in the metropolitan area of the capital and largest city, San José.

Costa Rica is a great Futsal Nation.   From the Youth to the professional levels.  This should be a very exciting trip for the players and coaches.

More details will be coming soon regarding the exciting trip.  Stay tuned.
